Worship
We serve the whole community and welcome children and their families whatever their faith or belief. We join together in an act of worship on a daily basis. It offers opportunities to strengthen our sense of community, belonging and inclusiveness.
We are proud of the strong links we have with St Lawrence Church and community. Working together, we make a significant contribution to the religious, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils.
As well as our daily worship in school, where we welcome the clergy and church community, we also value within St Lawrence’s Church. Here we celebrate significant festivals in the Church calendar including Harvest, Christmas and Easter. These services involve our Key Stage Two pupils who lead prayers, read poems and read from the Bible. As well as this, in Church, we welcome reception children and their families to ‘Team Stratford’ with our ‘New Beginnings’ Service. Our school year ends in Church with a happy celebration of all the Year 6 pupils have achieved, enjoyed and shared together.
We meet as a whole school community on a weekly basis. Friday’s ‘Smiley Face Celebrations’ is a chance for us all to celebrate the achievements of the week. Join children, parents, grandparents, younger siblings, governors and staff at 14:20 every Friday afternoon!
Our themes for collective worship are based on Christian values. Our themes for this year are:
- Term 1: Thankfulness
- Term 2: Trust
- Term 3: Perseverance
- Term 4: Justice
- Term 5: Service
- Term 6: Truth & Truthfulness
Our School Prayer
This is our school
May all here live happily together
May our school be full of joy
May love dwell here among us every day
Love of one another
Love of life itself
And the love of God
Let us remember
That as many hands build a house
So everyone can make this school
A peaceful, loving and joyful place.
Amen
