EYFS 2023 Admissions

At our school…

A school place is made available to all children from the September following their 4th birthday.

Full time education is available to all reception pupils (EYFS2)

All children generally start fulltime from the first day of the Autumn Term. We go for it! However, if this does not suit your child please talk to us and we will make arrangements as appropriate and legal!

The school day is 9am – 3pm.

We want to ensure that your child has the smoothest possible start to his or her school career. This information is to help you know what to do and when to do it!  (The whole process is probably more difficult for you, than it is for your little one!). However, there is a lot to think about and it can spoil what should be an exciting & enjoyable time for you and your child if you feel unsure. Read on………

All our admissions are co-ordinated by the Schools Admission Team, Schools Branch. You can contact them via the Customer Care Team at County Hall in Trowbridge on 0300 456 0100 . Induction Sessions for our new pupils

We hold four induction afternoons during the Summer Term (June and July). We hope that your child will be able to attend these sessions so that they can become used to their new classroom and the school environment. These induction sessions (Caterpillar Come and Play Days) are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday 20th June 2023
  • Tuesday 27th June 2023
  • Tuesday 4th July 2023

Please come to as many as you can! Some or all.

Visits to Pre-School Settings

A member of staff from our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) attempts to meet all our new pupils “on their own turf” as it were.

We liaise closely with the staff in each setting and receive the Foundation Stage Profile for each of the children. If you have any concerns regarding your child starting school please contact Mrs Justine Watkins via the school office and she may arrange for extra visits to be made or arrange for individualised arrangements to be made.

When can my child start school?

Your child must be in full-time education from the start of the term following his or her fifth birthday. In Wiltshire, children can start school from the September following their fourth birthday.
