Governing Body
The Board of Governors is responsible for the strategic direction, ethos and overall governance of the school. Its core functions are:
- To set the vision and strategic direction of the school
- To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school
- To ensure that the school’s financial resources are well spent
The Board of Governors shall be no more than 12 governors, with a minimum of 2 Parent Governors, and the Foundation Governors cannot be more than 25% of the overall Board which consist of:
- Up to 3 Parent governors and no less than 2 Parent governors
- One Local Authority governor
- One Foundation (Ex Officio) governor
- One Foundation governor
- One Staff (Ex Officio) governor. The Headteacher sits ex officio; may choose not to be appointed as a governor
- One Staff governor
- Up to 4 Co-Opted governors, as required to fulfil key responsibilities
